2024 Solar Energy and Storage Guide: Showcasing Dutch Innovation and Expertise

January 6, 2025

On 16 October, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) launched the inaugural edition of the Solar Energy and Storage Guide, showcasing Dutch leadership in solar energy and energy storage. This guide was unveiled at the 'Vakbeurs Energie' trade fair in the Netherlands, during a high-profile conference organized by Energy Storage NL. Kenneth Colijn, the International Solar Energy Advisor at RVO, presented the guide to Jeroen Neefs, Director of Energy Storage NL, at the 'Energy Storage Day' conference.

Spotlighting Dutch Expertise and Innovation

The 2024 Solar Energy and Storage Guide highlights recent advancements in the Netherlands' solar energy sector and features profiles of over 70 Dutch companies. It emphasizes the nation's extensive experience and cutting-edge solutions in solar energy and storage technologies.

Dutch embassies and Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSOs) will distribute the guide globally, aiming to inform international business partners about the strengths of the Dutch solar energy sector. Furthermore, Dutch trade associations can use the guide as a tool to attract foreign stakeholders and promote the sector’s capabilities abroad.

Energy Storage at the Forefront

This year's edition places a special focus on the integration of solar energy generation and storage. According to Jeroen Neefs, Director of Energy Storage NL, “The combination of solar energy and storage is becoming the standard. It significantly enhances the share of renewable energy in the Netherlands while reducing reliance on fossil fuels such as gas and coal. This guide highlights the potential and the Dutch companies that are leading the way in this field.”

The Solar Energy and Storage Guide 2024 is a result of collaborative efforts between public and private entities under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) initiative. RVO, in collaboration with Energy Storage NL, TKI Urban Energy, and Holland Solar, worked together to create this comprehensive guide.
